The story behind Royal Santalum Assam
The origin of this oil is not a planned marketing concept, but part of the destiny of the Almighty.
A major customer of the Indian family ordered pure sandalwood oil made from Santalum album heartwood. The distillation took place in a still in Assam, India, which had been used exclusively for processing agarwood for decades. Without any particular intention, the sandalwood was distilled on precisely this oud still.
The result was extraordinary.
The sandalwood took on the characteristic signature of the plantation and developed a clearly perceptible Assam oud nuance.
However, this added depth wasn't what the major client had expected. He found the oud influence too prominent, too distinctive, too unusual.
The major customer subsequently refused to accept the batch.
The family decided to take this special oil to Bangkok to pass it on.
It was precisely at this point that fate intervened.
Without this twist of fate, this oil would never have reached Bangkok, and we would never have stumbled upon this deep golden rarity.
And that's precisely why we at Duftkumpels travel to the most remote sources in the world. You can't find these qualities on a computer, on a screen, with a mouse in your hand and a click in your shopping cart. That's exactly what sets us apart from so many others.
Quality
This batch of Royal Santalum Assam is a pure natural oil made from Santalum album heartwood, distilled in a traditional oud distillery in Assam, India.
The oily consistency, the deep golden yellow color, and the exceptional durability on the skin testify to the highest purity.
A traditional test of purity is the taste test, as practiced for generations on the Indian subcontinent. Pure sandalwood begins balsamically soft and ethereal, then after a few seconds turns into an intense bitterness. This characteristic transformation cannot be replicated by synthetic substitutes.

Royal Santalum Assam possesses depth, warmth, soul, and character.
Not a raw material for mass-produced goods, but a material for the art of fragrance.
