Woods – The Soul of Woody Fragrances

Wood is the backbone of every great perfume composition. At Duftkumpels we curate the world's finest wood essences: oud (agarwood) from Cambodia, Thailand, Assam and Borneo, sandalwood from Mysore, vetiver from Haiti and cedarwood from the Atlas Mountains. Every essence hand-selected, every origin documented.

The wood notes at Duftkumpels

  • Oud (agarwood): The "liquid gold" – profound, animalic, honeyed. Our complete oud collection shows the spectrum from light Thai oud to heavy Assam.
  • Sandalwood: Creamy, milky, warm. The perfect base for oriental compositions. Indian Santalum album from Mysore is the noblest variety.
  • Vetiver: Earthy, smoky, green. Extracted from the roots of a grass. Versatile as a base and heart note.
  • Cedarwood: Dry, warm, pencil-like. Virginia cedar and Atlas cedar offer distinct profiles.

Why woody fragrances?

Wood notes are the ultimate base notes: they provide structure, longevity and depth. In Extrait de Parfum concentration, woods unfold their full complexity – from the fresh opening to the hours-long, meditative warm trail on the skin.

Whether as a pure oud oil for purists or as a composition like Tonkin Sunset XDP with oud, tonka and vanilla – woody fragrances are the heart of the Duftkumpels range.
