Which Perfume for Which Season?

Why the season influences your fragrance

Temperature changes how perfume works. Warmth accelerates evaporation – light top notes vanish faster, heavy base notes develop more prominently. Cold slows everything down. That means: the same fragrance can feel overbearing in summer and invisible in winter.

Spring (March–May)

Light oud compositions, floral attars. Prince Thai Prachin with its citrus-green profile. Spray less than in winter.

Summer (June–August)

Attar instead of alcohol-based perfume – oil evaporates more slowly in the heat. Light Thai oud. One spray of extrait is enough at 30 °C.

Autumn (Sept–Nov)

The golden season for perfume. Ambra Al Hambra XDP, Tonkin Sunset XDP. The transitional temperatures show both sides of a fragrance.

Winter (Dec–Feb)

The hour of the heavyweights. Al Hayvaan XDP, Leather 4 LOVE!, Sultan Suifi vintage oud. 2–3 sprays under scarf and coat.

Can you wear heavy fragrances in summer?+

Yes – but with 1 spray instead of 3. Heavy fragrances project much more strongly in the heat. Dosed discreetly, they are wearable in summer too.

Do I need a different perfume for every season?+

Ideally, yes. Minimum 2: a light one for spring/summer, a heavy one for autumn/winter. Tonkin Sunset XDP, however, covers all seasons reasonably well.
