Duftkumpels is not a brand construct with a team and marketing department, but the work of a single perfumer. AttarG founded the atelier in Hamburg in 2024 and still runs it alone today: composition, bottling and packaging – every production step lies in his own hands, with no team in the background.
For the rarest raw materials AttarG travels the world personally and secures them directly on site, instead of buying through intermediaries or wholesale markets. This direct sourcing is the reason Duftkumpels can offer materials that are hardly to be found in the niche scene.
What makes Duftkumpels special
Duftkumpels stands for Hamburg craftsmanship: every Tonkin Sunset XDP is made by hand, every batch is limited and documented. We use exclusively real raw materials – no synthetic oud, no artificial ambergris accord, no castoreum substitute.
Our oud comes from Assam, Cambodia, Borneo, Thailand and Laos. AttarG buys the Cambodian oud directly from distillers on site. Our ambergris is genuine beach-found material from New Zealand, South Africa and the Caribbean, our gazelle musk comes from the Himalayas, our castoreum from Siberia. Some of these raw materials reach the atelier only in tiny quantities – sometimes just a few millilitres after years of searching.
