Aquilaria Floris Nigrum is a homage to two long-lost legends, Oud Couture and AL Mu'min. Born from the last remaining drops of some of the rarest raw materials ever to pass through the hands of AttarG, this fragrance unites fragments of past masterpieces into a new, irretrievable composition.

Some of these ingredients come from the estates of past perfumers who perfected their craft over decades. Among them a labdanum absolute from Crete from the year 2002, obtained in the traditional way from the beards and coats of free-grazing goats that roamed through fields of rockrose. Such raw materials are not ingredients, they are relics of a bygone era.

Aquilaria Floris Nigrum opens with a multifaceted accord of Thai agarwood from the Chiang Mai region, known for its exceptional balance of floral, fruity and at the same time animalic nuances.

What makes this fragrance unique, however, is not its structure but the deliberate fusion of all elements. The transitions are fluid and barely tangible, creating a continuous olfactory continuum.

The agarwood joins earthy patchouli and the warm body of the matured labdanum. Combined with cocoa, vanilla and benzoin, a dense amber accord emerges that forms a creamy and at the same time deeply resonant base.

Spicy facets of cardamom, cinnamon leaf and pink pepper lend the composition a vibrant tension, while myrrh and tonka bean create a warm, almost lacquer-like high gloss.

At the centre stands the Bulgarian rose, matured, dark and of exceptional intensity. It runs through the fragrance from the top note into the heart and transforms the composition into a mystical, smoky elegance.

The animalic components of Siberian castoreum and Indian civet musk in matured vintage qualities give the composition a physical presence that settles on the skin like a warm, living veil.

For Aquilaria Floris Nigrum only pure natural, hand-selected raw materials were used, many of them matured over decades and no longer reproducible in this quality today.
