Why Attar?

In the beginning was the essence!

The idea and the goal:

Before every step, there is a thought: How can we let the West participate in the authentic, unknown world of oriental fragrances?
How can you give a fragrance lover who has been buying well-known brands for decades but has never experienced real oud, musk, or ambergris access to these wonderful raw materials?

The goal of Duftkumpels is to create an authentic fragrance experience from 100% natural and rare, valuable ingredients and to offer it to you at fair conditions.

Our exclusive attars consist of a carrier oil (usually sandalwood oil from Mysore/India), a base, heart and head accords.

We have consciously avoided synthetic substances or alcohol. Our recipes are partly based on centuries-old texts from the subcontinent, combined with today's zeitgeist of olfactory perception.

Origin of our raw materials:

We bring most of our essential oils ourselves from the most remote corners of the world to create an incomparable experience that we would like to share with you.

Musk d'Orange was conceived at the turn of the year 2014-15 in Lahore, the ancient Mughal royal city in the heart of the subcontinent. It was in this city that the Almighty, through a stroke of fate, led me into the world of fragrances, essences, elixirs, and attars.

Fragrance progression:

Musk d'Orange is a musk attar that is truly unique! Or do you know of another composition that incorporates three of the highest-quality sandalwood oils in this hemisphere? Or a fragrance that combines civet musk, ambergris, and castoreum on one ingredient list?

Musk d'Orange captures attention as soon as the bottle is opened! On the skin, it begins with a skillful interplay of animalic, woody accords from oud and floral extracts of patchouli and tuberose, which harmonize perfectly with each other.

The unique civet musk blends beautifully with orris root absolute. Both precious raw materials embody a "metallic warmth" that is difficult to describe—warm, powdery, sweet, spicy, floral, and enveloping with a balsamic aura of sandalwood.

The vintage labdanum from Crete, harvested over 21 years ago, gives this musk attar an appetizing sweetness without drifting towards gourmand.

Cardamom, mandarin orange, iris absolute, and patchouli come together in the crown of the accord conglomerate – seemingly opposing ingredients that, in the right dosage, create a successful interplay of the senses!

Durability:

Musk d'Orange has a dominant presence and a powerful sillage that lasts between 8 and 12 hours, depending on skin type and season.

Important NOTE:

It's a very special, pure essence without any synthetic additives. If you're new to attars or have no previous experience with pure oud, amber, or musk, we recommend applying the fragrance sparingly.
